June is Dairy Month in Wisconsin–
It seems pretty silly that we have an official dairy month
in Wisconsin when every day is dairy special! In June Wisconsinites celebrate Dairy Month all month long with
Cows on the Concourse, Breakfast On The Farm events, and the newly crowned Alice in Dairyland begins her year-long reign marketing Wisconsin Dairy products. The Dane County Farmer’s Market, and many other local markets are in full swing, with many local dairy options for all the hungry local Cheeseheads.
We never tire of all things dairy here in the Dairy State,
particularly the infamous cheese curds, many varieties of cheese, ice cream and milk products. We are of course, Cheeseheads. One of my favorite ways to enjoy Wisconsin Dairy is in cheesecake. I loved it so much growing up that I eventually started my own cheesecake business, which I ran
for 5 years. I made so many cheesecakes that I can do it in my sleep now! One of my signature products were Little BitsTM -named after my childhood nickname my daddy called me: Little Bit or Bit Little. Customers loved the Little BitsTM because they could taste more flavors that way, with just a bite or two of each.
People still ask me to make cheesecakes for special
occasions, in fact last fall I made the wedding cheesecakes for my nephew’s wedding in Minnesota. I learned all the tips and tricks of the trade, and even learned how to repair a cracked cheesecake, every baker’s nightmare.
Have you ever made cheesecake? Did anything go
wrong? Would you be interested in a webinar to learn some of my tips and tricks? What is your biggest baking challenge? I’d love to hear your comments so that I can put together some content that is valuable to my readers, so please comment on this blog!
In honor of June Dairy Month one lucky follower who both
comments on this post and also subscribes to my e-news will win a Wisconsin Dairy Product! Deadline for responses is June 20th.
